These Studio Standard Les Paul's are cool, sought after, and rare. This beauty is a 1984 and weighs only 7.70lbs. It's well balanced, plays great and sounds amazing!

Overall Great Condition, especially for a 41-Year-Old Guitar. Just Set Up with New Strings. Frets Polished, Fretboard Conditioned. This is not a collector's guitar, this is a player's guitar. It has some signs of being "loved" Buckel Rash on the Back, a Few Dings Here and There. Frets have wear but plenty of life Left. Slight Fretboard Wear on the First Few Positions. Nothing out of the Ordinary on a Vintage Guitar. The Neck Pickup is the Original Tim Shaw PAF. The Bridge is a 2016 Gibson 496T. Both Pickups Sound Incredible. Includes Original "Chain Saw" Hard Shell Case.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Body: Typically mahogany with a maple top, but some early models had alder bodies. The body is thinner than a standard Les Paul, contributing to a lighter weight.
Neck: Mahogany, set-neck construction.
Fretboard: Rosewood with dot inlays.
Hardware: Nickel hardware, including a Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece.
Pickups: Two original Gibson "Tim Shaw" humbuckers.
Electronics: Two volume knobs, two tone knobs, and a three-position pickup selector switch.
Construction: The Studio Standard features a single-ply binding around the body and neck.

As an engineer at the Gibson Custom Shop, Tim Shaw was appointed the job of recreating the golden era of PAF humbuckers in the early 1980s for use in Gibson guitars, following feedback that the "PAF" clones manufactured in the 1970s were pretty far off the mark. The result was the Tim Shaw PAT NO. humbucker you see before you, manufactured for a short time between 1980-1986. These are often considered some of the most accurate PAF clones available.

The Gibson 496T humbucker pickup is a high-output, bridge-position pickup with an Alnico V magnet and 4-conductor wiring. It's known for its enhanced mids and highs, and is typically wax-potted. The DC resistance is around 14.2K.
