Overall Good Condition for its age (30 Years) Set up with Flat-wound Strings. Includes Bridge Cover and Pickup Cover. Stock Pickup was replaced with a DiMazrio Pickup. This Bass has the look, feel and tone to even make James Jamerson Smile. Includes Hard Case.
This Bass has a few bumps and bruises, some finish checking, some finish peeling. Its only cosmetic and only adds to the 60's vintage vibe.
Fender Foto Flames were only produced in a short run in the early 90s and don't come for sale often. They were made by putting a flame maple transfer (foto flame) onto a Basswood top which was laminated to the body (Ash in this case) and then highly lacquered. The result is one of the coolest, rarest and most distinct finishes in the Fender line up. Even better, they age to show hairlines in the lacquer (not the wood) that bass have tone and vibe for days!!!
It sounds big and round with plenty of definition. The DiMarzio pickup is articulate and clear. The neck is beautiful with great action. It is a very comfortable bass that looks fantastic.
