Tonally, cocobolo falls somewhere between koa and rosewood. It has the treble vigor of koa combined with a strong, but well-balanced bass response akin to rosewood. For enhanced projection and nuance, Breedlove outfitted the guitar with an Adirondack spruce top. Adirondack spruce has an unbelievable amount of headroom and a high harmonic content.
