The DigiTech RP5 is a vintage multi-effects processor from the mid-1990s, built with a durable, all-metal chassis for stage use. It was considered a premium unit at the time, utilizing DigiTech's S-DISC digital signal processor to offer studio-quality effects.

According to the owner's manual available on Manuals+, the RP5 offers full-bandwidth effects processing from 20Hz to 20kHz with stereo output.
The programmable effects are categorized as follows:
Dynamic and gain: Compression, distortion, and a silencer (noise gate).
EQ and volume: A master volume, a 3-band parametric equalizer, and a rotary presence dial.
Modulation and pitch: Seven different types of effects, including flanging, stereo panning, rotary simulation (Roto Phase), and pitch-shifting.
Delay: Dual delay, with several types including mono, stereo, and tap tempo options.
Reverb: Different reverb effects.
Cabinet emulation: Programmable speaker cabinet emulation for direct recording or mixing.

Footswitches: The RP5 features a pedalboard with six footswitches.
Presets: The unit comes with 40 factory presets and space for 40 user-defined presets.
CC pedal jack: A 1/4" input allows for an external continuous control (CC) pedal to be connected, enabling real-time parameter control.
