The Macassar ebony fingerboard includes 22 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets, ESP flag inlays, and single-ply white binding that extends to the body and reversed headstock for a refined aesthetic.

At its core, the Phoenix-1001 is equipped with a Seymour Duncan Custom 14 pickup, designed exclusively for ESP. This high-output pickup offers extraordinary tonal balance, clarity, and articulation, with a push-pull control on the tone knob to split the coils for added versatility.
