The American Special Mustang is a humbucker-equipped variation of the classic Fender offset guitar. Besides the humbuckers, the American Special differs from vintage Mustangs with its use of a tune-o-matic bridge as opposed to a floating tremolo and a three-way switch as opposed to the individual pickup selection sliders, as well as modern locking tuners.
