Welcoming yet another expansion to the highly successful AZ series, Ibanez is proud to introduce the AZES or AZ Essentials line. The philosophy behind this series is to bring the tone, versatility and playability of this celebrated lineup to a wider array of beginner and intermediate players. AZ Essentials guitars are equipped with series-specific features such as a mono-unit output jack, a 9.84" fingerboard radius, and Comfort round bridge saddles, all designed to make the beginner's learning process a streamlined, enjoyable and fun experience.

AZES guitars feature a 25" scale length, which makes for an easier playing instrument for children and players of smaller stature. A 25" medium scale is also large enough that the player can continue to grow with the instrument as they mature as a guitarist.

9.84" radius jatoba fretboard with medium frets

The 9.84" fretboard radius is not too flat, not too round and makes for an excellent choice for the first-time player. This radius is a great middle ground that allows for learning to play each note correctly, while still maintaining a high degree of comfort. Jatoba has a reddish brown color and produces a rich midrange with a crisp high end. Medium sized frets enhance the accuracy of your notes.

F106 bridge with Comfort round steel saddles

The F106 bridge is equipped with Comfort round steel saddles. Its construction provides a wider range of height adjustment and greater ease of setting up. Additionally, the screws are less likely to stick out, leading to less stress on your strumming hand and better playing comfort.

Dyna Mix 8 switching system with Alter switch

Dyna-Mix 8 offers eight sound variations and can switch modes with just a flick of the mini switch. It even simulates a humbucking sound from the combination of two single coil pickups.

Mono-unit output jack

The mono-unit output jack is made of solid, durable material and is a single piece to avoid unwanted movement and loosening of the jack, which leads to contact failure or disconnection. This innovation allows for long-term playing enjoyment and minimal maintenance.

This item is sold as a Factory Second. A Factory Second is an item that acquired a cosmetic flaw during manufacturing. This item is fully functiong properly and soley marked as a Factory Second due to a cosmetic flaw. The type of cosmetic flaw varies with every item such as light surface scratching, finish dings or splits, paint discoloration, etc. The flaw is purley cosmetic and does not affect the playability or durability of the item. The majority of Factory Seconds look brand new, as the manufacturer is fanatical about quality control and will mark an item as a second for even the tiniest cosmetic imperfection.
