Since 2001, Luke Hoskin has been a critical force in the artistic trajectory and unrelenting riffs of Canadian mathcore/prog-metal collective Protest the Hero. Though Hoskin would only become a bona fide member in 2021, he’s remained integral to the band’s live performances since the early days. As such, he needed a guitar up to the task of tearing up the stage night after night, and one that is capable of enduring the break-neck diversity of the band’s creative and sonic offerings. Enter his Ibanez LHMI1 signature electric guitar. The 3-piece maple neck is reinforced by KTS titanium rods, boasting an ebony fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets. A flamed maple-topped nyatoh body is embedded with active Fishman Fluence humbuckers, designed to handle a wealth of playstyles, including a push-pull voicing switch on the volume knob. And no matter what type of sonic mayhem you dish out, Gotoh MG-T locking tuners ensure even your most searing licks won’t go out of tune.
