Taking adaptability to the extreme, the AZ series has established itself and carved out a place that spans everything from the warmest blues licks, to the most intense, shred-heavy metal riffs. Carrying this ethos forward, the AZ line embodies time-tested Ibanez innovation and player-focused features like a smooth, oval neck grip, a well-balanced asymmetrical body shape, and the neck heel allowing for unrivaled playability.
Features:
- Roasted Maple neck
The Roasted Maple neck is heat-treated to increase stability, durability, moisture resistance and tolerance of temperature changes.
- Jatoba fretboard
Jatoba has a reddish brown color and produces a rich mid range with a crisp high end.
- Jumbo Stainless Steel frets
Stainless steel frets boast excellent corrosion resistance. The wide and tall fret-type offers a quick response and effortless articulation when playing chords and clear tone when playing single notes.
- Alder body
The Alder body delivers a well-balanced bright tone, enriched resonance and sustain.
- Ibanez Classic Custom pickups
Ibanez Classic Custom pickups offer a versatile tonal palette, combining the warm, clear sound of alnico neck and middle single-coil pickups with the powerful, dynamic output of a ceramic bridge humbucker. This unique blend delivers precise articulation and expressive tone.
- Locking machine heads
Locking machine heads ensure accurate and stable tuning.
- T106 tremolo
The T106 tremolo bridge with 6 independent saddles makes precise height and intonation adjustment of each string easy.
- dyna-MIX9 switching system with Alter Switch
The dyna-MIX 9 offers nine sound variations and can switch between humbucker and single coil modes with just a flick of the mini switch. One mode even simulates a humbucking sound from the combination of two single coil pickups.

The Super All Access Neck Joint increases playability and allows for easy access to the higher frets.
