The Ibanez TMB405TA 5-String Electric Bass Guitar combines the iconic Talman body shape with components aimed at powerful tonal versatility. Its innovative TMB electronic system and thoughtful hardware specifications open the door to a variety of classic and modern bass tones suited for any musical style.
Roasted Maple Neck Enhances Playability and Tone
The TMB405TA's Roasted Maple neck has been heat-treated to increase stability, durability and tolerance of environmental changes. Its reinforced graphite rods provide substantial sustain and tuning stability. The slim, fast neck and medium frets make navigating the fretboard comfortable and accurate. The neck's enhanced rigidity and moisture resistance yield a clear, focused tone with a tight low end and articulate midrange.
Dynamix PJ Pickups Deliver a Blend of Clarity and Warmth
The TMB405TA's Dynamix PJ pickups include a punchy split-coil Precision Bass pickup in the middle position and a full, rounded Jazz Bass pickup at the bridge. Blending these pickups unlocks a range of classic bass tones from bright and cutting to deep and mellow. The PJ configuration is a staple of famous bassists and a highly versatile option for any genre.
Ibanez Custom Electronics Provides Tonal Control
The TMB405TA's Ibanez Custom Electronics 2-band EQ includes Treble and Bass controls to shape your tone. Boost the Treble for extra cut and clarity or roll it off for a warmer, more vintage style. Increase the Bass to fill out the low end or cut it back for a tighter sound. The EQ provides the flexibility to create tones for any musical application, whether recording intricate studio tracks or performing live on stage.
High-Performance Hardware Delivers Solid Performance
The TMB405TA's hardware is designed for reliable, consistent performance. Its B10 bridge allows for precise intonation adjustments to keep your bass sounding its best. The bridge works with the truss rod and graphite reinforcement rods in the neck to provide exceptional tuning stability and sustain. The open-gear tuners are lightweight yet durable, holding tension accurately through the extremes of environmental changes and aggressive playing styles.
