Overall Great Condition and Completely cleaned and serviced. Lab never made a 2x12 L11 but it was a popular modification back in the day to put an L11 head chassis in the L5 2x12 combo amp to upgrade the power section. This one was done cleanly and actually looks stock. This amp sounds incredible!!
This is a Norlin Lab Series L11 Solid State amplifier. The L11 has an identical preamp section to the Lab Series L5, likely one of the best Solid State amps ever designed, which was famously used by B.B. King and Ty Tabor of Kings X as well as other artists such as Allan Holdsworth and Joe Bonamassa. However, instead of being a 100W RMS 2x12 combo like the L5 the L11 is a 200w RMS 8ohm Amplifier head which was originally designed to power 2 4x12 cabinets.
This head is in great shape, and the Frequency sweep, multifilter, effects loop, spring reverb and optical compressor are all fully functional. While it was marketed as a Guitar amp it has enough low end on tap that it could easily be used as a bass amp as well. Either channel can be used in conjunction with the effects loop and the built in optical compressor.
This amp takes pedals well and is capable of producing usable distorted tones (although a drive definitely helps in that area) but where it shines is undoubtedly in it's clean tones.
The Amplifier has 2 Channels:
A simple Volume, Bass, Midrange, Treble channel with a "Bright" switch and Hi and Lo inputs
A more complex channel which, in addition to the above controls - adds a Midrange Frequency sweep, a "Multifilter" (some sort of harmonic filter or pre-set 6-band EQ depending on who you ask) and a control for the mix of the Spring Reverb.
The reverb can be turned on and off with a separate footswitch (not included)
Amp Sold As Is.
