Up for sale is a very rare 1956 Gibson GA15 (Less than 160 were made this year) This is a really cool circuit. It’s got a 12AX7 input tube with an octal phase inverter. The volume and tone is in Tweed deluxe territory with a little more headroom.
This one has been well loved. It has been recapped on the inside and has a Weber replacement Speaker. A three prong grounded cord has been added and the output transformer has been relocated to the bottom of the amplifier cabinet. Originally it would have been mounted on the speaker. It also appears to have had a baffle change. The new baffle is cabinet grade birch ply. Lastly someone added a speed indicator from an old turntable on the chassis near the volume knob. (We love it) The Vibe is real with this one!
Even though this one has seen lots of use, it’s got a great vibe and perfect for the recording studio are small venues.
