Schecter’s C-1 has become a staple among the company’s guitar offerings. Its myriad permutations, configurations, and signature artist takes on the shape make it an instantly recognizable workhorse that pulls no punches in the performance department. This C-1 Ink Bomb represents the next chapter in Schecter excellence, combining a trio of premier tonewoods with a scorching set of Seymour Duncan alt.metal Blackout humbuckers that bring its mahogany-maple-ebony foundations to electrifying life.

Ferocious yet flexible, the Schecter C-1 Ink Bomb’s formidable foundations were selected with exacting precision by Schecter’s luthiers. A mahogany body serves as its aural anchor, renowned for its ample dynamic range, rich harmonic depth, and high-headroom projection. Its maple neck imbues your sounds with spectrum-spanning warmth and brightness; its excellent note-separating attributes ensure all manners of chugging breakdowns, raucous riffs, laser-tight leads, and scorching solos are impeccably voiced. Up top, an ebony fretboard completes this C-1’s tonewood triumvirate, boasting seemingly endless sustain and a bell-like, sonorous character that teems with presence, but never at the cost of definition.

Considering the profile of the Schecter C-1 Ink Bomb’s foundational tonewoods, the proper pickups were needed to prime this powerhouse for premium performances. Schecter’s never been shy about experimenting with sounds, and the company’s decision to outfit this C-1 with a dyad of Seymour Duncan alt.metal Blackout humbuckers is endemic of its commitment to tailored support that’s equal parts pliable and precise. These active pickups were crafted with a particular strain of down-tuned playing in mind — one that balances rhythmic grooves with intricate licks through the combined lens of heavy-hitting haymakers that lower tunings support. Tight lows, rich harmonics, and muscular mids abound; palm-muted and syncopated playing greatly benefits from the alt.metal Blackouts’ distinctive voicing, carefully contouring your sound and imparting just enough color to enrich your axe’s natural sonic attributes.

Guitarists and bassists of virtually every stylistic persuasion can agree that less time needed for tuning, intonation, performance, and setup adjustments could only improve their playing experiences. To this end, Schecter opted for a 3-piece neck, as it increases the harmonic character conjured by both the maple tonewood and the set-neck construction and immensely increases the axe’s resilience to twisting or warping. The ultra-accommodating Thin C-shaped neck provides a comfortable connection to the C-1 Ink Bomb, supporting electrifyingly speedy and precise performances. The 24 frets sprawling the fingerboard’s 14-inch radius are complemented by the S-shaped body and methodically contoured cutaways, while the 25.5-inch scale gives you plenty of pliability to traverse tone-crafting worlds of the most depraved, down-tuned destruction. With Schecter locking tuners and a Tonepros Locking TOM bridge to bookend your strings, the C-1 Ink Bomb is a sonic scepter just waiting to be wielded.
