Authentic mandolin "chop" is recognizable from the first strum and can only be found in an instrument with a true, hand-carved Spruce top. We've hand-carved the tops of the LM-310F to provide that real 1920s sound, but with enough vibration to still cut through in today's ensemble playing.
The thin V profile of the maple neck fits comfortably in the player's hand and our removal of the fretboard extension beyond the 20th fret allows for easy strumming without getting hung up on the extended upper frets.
Combine the graceful curves of an authentic F-style body and a graduated solid spruce carved top, and you've got an instrument that not only sounds great out of the box but also one you can hand down to the next generation of players.

Tone-Gard for Mandolin (Standard Sized) Sunrise Style
Keeps the back of the mandolin away from your body, resulting in a very noticeable boost in tone and volume. So much of the sound of the mandolin comes from the back! This contraption is especially helpful when standing or using a strap. It easily installs by slipping over the back of the mandolin and is slightly adjustable. Rubber and leather pads are in place to protect the instruments finish. Also fits inside most cases, so removal isn't necessary.
The "Red Dot" Stick-on Pickup Button.
This simple piezo pickup harness is an inexpensive way to add a pickup to an acoustic guitar or other instrument with no need for tools or permanent alteration. We have branded this as the "Red Dot" due to its shape and color, and also in memory of the famous old Red Dot brand of cigars from central Pennsylvania.
The piezo pickup is encased in a low-profile plastic mounting button, which is adhered to the instrument body via an attached adhesive pad. The output jack has a Velcro(tm)-style backing can be affixed to an instrument using a matching piece (not provided), or using the provided clip. The jack wire is approximately 14" in length.
