The UA 6176 combines two of Universal Audio’s most iconic designs: the all-tube 610 mic preamp, famously used on recordings from Frank Sinatra to Van Halen, and the 1176LN FET compressor, one of the most loved compressors in recording history. Together, they create the ultimate channel strip — smooth tube warmth, fast dynamic control, and unmistakable vintage tone.

Beloved by engineers and artists including Vance Powell, Joe Chiccarelli, Chris Martin (Coldplay), Norah Jones, and Wyclef Jean, the 6176 remains a studio mainstay thanks to its musicality and flexibility. Its “Split/Join” switch allows you to route the preamp and compressor independently or in series, giving you unmatched control.
